The State Government’s record investment in regional road maintenance is improving a key link between the Bellarine Peninsula’s most popular destinations.
A section of Golf Links Road in Barwon Heads will undergo resurfacing works from next weekend to deliver a smoother, safer journey for thousands of drivers each day, thanks to the State Government’s $425 million regional road maintenance blitz.
Golf Links Road is a key road for locals and visitors to the region travelling between Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Geelong, as well as providing access to the iconic 13th Beach and Barwon Heads Golf Club.
The project will resurface a 314-metre section of Golf Links Road between Reid Street and Clifford Parade, improving the durability and longevity of the road surface and safeguarding it against water damage.
Works will take place between 7.30pm and 5.00am from Sunday 23 until Thursday 27 February.
Bridge Road and Golf Links Road will be closed at both ends of the works area, with drivers travelling towards Geelong or Ocean Grove to be diverted along Reid Street and Clifford Parade and southbound traffic to detour along Campbell Street and Henley Street.
