The state district of Bellarine takes in the entire Bellarine Peninsula, which is east of Geelong.
Covering 367.5 square kilometers, major population centres include Leopold, Clifton Springs, Drysdale, Portarlington, Indented Head, St Leonards, Queenscliffe, Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads.
The district’s interior is largely devoted to agriculture.
The word Bellarine means “elbow” in the language of the local Waddawurrung aboriginal people.
Bellarine district has been represented by Lisa Neville MP since the 2002 election.
