Jobs Boost: Securing Geelong’s Manufacturing Future

The Andrews Labor Government is backing manufacturing businesses in Geelong to create more highly skilled jobs in the region.

Member for Bellarine, Lisa Neville announced today that Impact Import Group plans to establish an off-road vehicle drawer manufacturing facility at Breakwater, creating 32 new full-time jobs. The project has been supported by funding from the Victorian Government’s Regional Jobs Fund.

Locally owned and operated Impact Import Group will be able to transition from an importer and distribution business to manufacturing and assembling 4WD accessories in Geelong.

On top of the job creation, the support for the new manufacturing facility means the company can create products that were previously imported from Korea.

Impact Import Group is ensuring that highly skilled manufacturing jobs are created in Geelong demonstrating the Labor Government’s priority to ensure a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation and growth.

The Regional Jobs Fund is part of the Government’s flagship Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund which helps businesses create jobs in regional Victoria, supports community projects and backs councils to build the infrastructure that locals and visitors need.

The new round of the Regional Jobs Fund opened earlier this year and will be available throughout 2021 to companies seeking to grow their operations.
