Key bus stops on the Northern Bellarine Peninsula are more accessible and comfortable thanks to a package of upgrades funded by the State Government.
Key bus stops in St Leonards, Indented Head and Portarlington have been upgraded with concrete pads, shelters and tactile ground surface indicators to ensure they’re more accessible for the community, including for those with disabilities.
The bus stop upgrades were identified as a priority to help local residents remain connected and living independently.
The Labor Government invested $36,900 into the upgrades through the Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program, while the City of Greater Geelong contributed $4,100.
The Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program was established in 2018 to support small-scale local transport initiatives and innovative transport solutions across the state.
