A new playground at Portarlington’s Little Reserve is now officially open.
The new playground replaces ageing infrastructure which has been in place for almost 25 years and will benefit the local community and visitors to the iconic coastal town.
The redevelopment has been designed with input from local students at the nearby Portarlington Primary School and includes swings, rockers, spinners and a flying fox.
The park features art installations and play sculptures in a coastal environment theme, complemented by planting of a new native sheoak forest.
Consideration has also been given to play elements for a range of age groups and the inclusion of an adult fitness station.
Funding for the project was provided by the Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee of Management in partnership with the Portarlington & Drysdale Community Bank branches of the Bendigo Bank, the Portarlington-Drysdale Lions Club, the City of Greater Geelong, Portarlington Mussel Festival, the Port Arts Network and the National Celtic Festival.
