On the recent Labour Day weekend I once again had the pleasure of opening the Bellarine Agricultural Show. The show is a much-loved event that really does highlight the important role agriculture has and will continue to play on the peninsula. While there are historic displays of machinery and farming practices of days gone by, ever-growing industries like viticulture and organic farming are also highlighted. My congratulations go to all those involved, including the organising committee led by show stalwarts Janet McDonald, Graeme Brown and Kerry and Rick Peacock.
