Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville today announced that works to upgrade the Tuckfield Street and Marlin Drive intersection in Ocean Grove would start next week.

The $962,000 intersection upgrade will see new traffic lights being installed at the intersection which will provide a safer crossing for pedestrians and school children in Ocean Grove.

The new traffic lights will also improve safety and traffic flow during peak periods at the intersection.

As part of works the existing intersection will be widened to include dedicated turning lanes into Marlin Drive from Tuckfield Street.

Upgrades will also be made to line marking and intersection lighting to improve safety for drivers and pedestrians.

As part of the intersection upgrade, a new bus shelter and dedicated bus bay will be installed at the bus stop on Tuckfield Street, near Watkin Street.

The new intersection will ensure safe and reliable travel for motorists and public transport users by reducing congestion and improving travel times for local residents.

Works are expected to be complete by mid-2016.
