Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville has announced a major upgrade for the Ocean Groves Men Shed, thanks to a $30,000 State Government grant.

Ms Neville said when complete the refurbished and upgraded shed will not only make it an even better facility for members but will importantly make it more accessible for those with a disability and compliant with OHS requirements.

I have been very pleased to work with the Ocean Grove Men’s Shed over many years and I congratulate all those members past and present who have worked hard in establishing this shed, Ms Neville said.

Ms Neville said that Men’s Sheds are safe and practical places for men to meet, make social connections and actively participate in their local communities.

And the Ocean Grove Shed is a great example of this.

They also importantly promote social inclusion and enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of men in local communities and are especially important in regional communities like Ocean Grove, she added.

The grant was part of a $1.2 million funding boost by the Andrews State Government to build or refurbish 32 new or existing Men’s Sheds around Victoria.
