An Andrews Labor Government will provide $15 million for Stage 1 of the Portarlington Safe Harbour Master Plan.

The funding for Stage 1 of the Portarlington Safe Harbour Master Plan will deliver a new pier and ferry berth, berths for the aquaculture industry, services for refuelling and pumping out and the extension of the current breakwater.

This project will create up to 100 new jobs for construction, with hundreds more to be delivered as the full master plan is realised and provide a massive boost to the important local mussel and oyster industry.

The Portarlington Safe Harbour Master Plan has not been actioned by Denis Napthine in the last three and a half years.
