Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville has announced that Beacon Point Pre School in Clifton Springs has received a State Government Grant of $10,000 for full refurbishment of their playground.

Ms Neville said a brand new playground was fantastic news for the current children and those who will attend well into the future.

The playground has not been updated for more than 15 years, so what is now a tired and out dated area will soon be transformed into an exciting and safe facility for those lucky enough to attend this great pre-school, Ms Neville said.

I know that the Beacon Point committee have consulted with the educators and a landscape architect who specialises in playgrounds to come up with a design that incorporates natural and sustainable elements and increases the usable space of the current yard significantly.

So I congratulate the committee, parents and educators on their efforts.

Also on the Bellarine Woodlands Kinder at Ocean Grove has also received a grant of $1412 and Good Start Early Learning in Drysdale $916 for IPads to assist in the provision of a modern learning environment, Ms Neville said.

Ms Neville said that the grants were a part of the State Governments $60 million investment in the early childhood sector through the building and upgrading of kindergartens and children’s centres right across the state.
Kindergartens do a fantastic job of preparing children for school, so the State Government is committed to giving them the facilities and resources they need, Ms Neville concluded.
