Member for Bellarine, Lisa Neville, today announced a State Government Grant of $250,000 towards the upgrade of the much loved and utilised Indented Head Community Hall.

The funding will used to remove and replace the roof and external walls of the hall that is managed by Bellarine Bayside.

Ms Neville said that the hall was an important part of community life in Indented Head and had been serving the town for over 60 years.

As local member, I am well aware that the Indented Head Community Hall is much loved and utilised and has played a significant role in the history of the town, she added.

Over recent times, the local community have raised with me their concerns that the hall was in need of upgrade and I am pleased that having raised this matter on their behalf within Government this important funding has now been delivered, Ms Neville said.

Ms Neville said that the hall over the decades had been the home to many community groups and that this is still the case to the current day.

Groups like the Indented Head Boat Club and Yacht Club, the St Leonards Film Society, walking group “Locomote”, the Greek Orthodox Association, and importantly the Indented Head Community Association use the hall regularly.

In addition, it is used for yoga and pilate classes, local social functions and community meetings, she added.

I commend the Indented Head Community Association, other user groups and Bellarine Bayside on their ongoing work in ensuring the hall continues to be the focal point of town life.

I now look forward to the upgrade of the hall, knowing it will serve the community well for many decades to come, Ms Neville concluded.
