DELIVERING A FIRST CLASS BELLARINE SECONDARY COLLEGE

Bellarine families will get the first -class local school their kids deserve, with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to build a new VCE Centre at Bellarine Secondary College.

Labor will invest $8.9 million to build the new VCE Centre, which will include new seminar rooms, a student lounge and administration space.

The Liberals did not spend a single cent to upgrade Bellarine Secondary College. In fact they slashed $1 billion out of the Victorian education system, leaving schools to crumble and decay across the state.

The Labor Government has already invested $2.5 million to upgrade classrooms, science and chemistry labs, the arts foyer and the main office area at Bellarine Secondary College.

But of course there is more work to be done, and only Labor will deliver the state of the art facilities students and staff need to achieve their best.

The Labor Government has invested more than $3.8 billion to build 70 new schools and upgrade 1,300 schools across the state since coming to office in 2014.

On the Bellarine schools like Portarlington, Barwon Heads, Leopold, Drysdale, Portarlington and Ocean Grove primaries have all  been upgraded under this Labor Government since 2014.

That means thousands of local kids now go to school every day and learn in new classrooms with better technology and facilities, like new gyms and science labs.

It’s also helped create 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians right around our state.

A re-elected Labor Government will keep delivering for Victorians with more new schools and upgrades to existing schools across the state.

“Bellarine Secondary College is a great school and I have worked hard with Principal Alison Murphy and the wider community to ensure it continues to grow for the benefit of all local students.

This announcement will now deliver state of the art facilities students and their teachers need to achieve their best.”

“We’re already upgraded the classrooms, science labs, arts foyer and main office area at Bellarine Secondary College but there’s more to do and only Labor will deliver almost $9 million for a new VCE centre.”
