BIGGER, BETTER SPORTING FACILITIES FOR BARWON HEADS

Families in Barwon Heads will be able to rely on great local sporting facilities, with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to deliver $225,000 for Barwon Heads Football Netball club and Barwon Heads Cricket Club.

Under a re-elected Labor Government, the investment of $225,000 will go towards new lighting, allowing the Club to train and play at night.

The Club boasts a proud history and a growing number of members, including a junior development program.

With these upgrades from a re-elected Labor Government, this local club – and this local community – will have the great sporting facilities they deserve.

Today’s announcement is in addition to the $100,000 delivered by the Andrews Labor Government to upgrade the Cricket Club’s new shade shelter, which was opened earlier this year.

The commitment also builds on the Labor Government’s investment in local sport, including over $8 million for the Drysdale Sports Precinct upgrade and the recent $200,000 for new lighting at Collendina Sports Ground as part of Pick My Project.

While the Liberals cut funding for hospitals and schools, and closed TAFE campuses – only Labor will invest in the projects our community really needs.

The Labor Government has made the biggest investment in grassroots sporting opportunities in Victoria’s history, with $420 million dedicated to community sports.
