Portarlington and St Leonards will soon have better bus services.

Member for Bellarine, Lisa Neville, announced today that a new shuttle bus will run between St Leonards, Portarlington and Drysdale and connect with Route 60 buses to Geelong.

Currently, not every service on Route 60 continues to Port Arlington. This new shuttle will ensure passengers from St Leonards and Portarlington can connect with more Route 60 services to and from Geelong.

The new service, which will be trialled from July, is a direct response to feedback from community consultation undertaken last year by Public Transport Victoria.

PTV will monitor patronage and consult with the community later in the year to determine long-term options for the service and for transport across the Bellarine, including community transport and ‘on-demand’ transport models to meet the needs of local passengers.

Over 350 individual comments, surveys and submissions were received and clearly identified a need for more frequent services to and from St Leonards and Portarlington.
