Bellarine Peninsula families and holidaymakers are coming together and embracing the outdoors at a new seaside-themed adventure playground at Barwon Heads Village Park.

Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville today officially opened the new playground, which was made possible by a $70,000 Victorian Government grant.

Complete with a massive new pirate ship that lets kids’ imagination run wild, the playground features modern play equipment including an accessible triple swing, climbing rope tower, double flying fox and swing basket.
Parks and playgrounds are often where children get their first taste of physical activity, as well as important socialisation skills. The Barwon Heads Village Park is a perfect chance for kids to get out and about and an ideal place for families to make friends and better connect with the community.

Barwon Heads Village Park is a great place for the community to get together. Its facilities includes two cricket ovals, tennis courts, a bowling green, pony club, soccer club, skate park and BBQ facilities as well as walking and bike tracks.

The Andrews Labor Government’s $100 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund is giving Victorian communities all over the state the safe, modern sport and recreation facilities they deserve.

The Labor Government is providing $100,000 to deliver on its commitment to build a new shelter to protect cricket teams and spectators at Barwon Heads Village Park.

All Victorians deserve access to great sport and recreation facilities. It’s what Labor promised, and we’re getting on with delivering then.
